13. Kadavra Bağışına Türkiye ve Dünyadaki YaklaşımUNIKA Journal of Health Sciences is a scientific, academic, double-blind, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that aims to contribute original national and international research in the field of health sciences to the literature.
UNIKA Journal of Health Sciences is a scientific, double-blind refereed journal that publishes original qualitative or quantitative research articles, current compilations, case reports, and notes to the editor prepared in Turkish or English that will contribute to health sciences. Our journal is published electronically three times a year (April, August, December). The publication processes implemented in our journal form the basis for developing and distributing information in an impartial and respectful manner. Articles to be published must comply with ethical rules and scientific standards and not have commercial concerns. Articles sent to our journal go through the referee evaluation process and are added to the literature after double-blind referee evaluation.
Manuscript Preparation
The following guide has been created to ensure uniformity in the format of articles submitted to our journal. It is mandatory to comply with the journal writing rules. Articles that do not comply with the rules will be rejected. The article evaluation period is three months. At the end of this period, feedback will be provided to the author regarding the evaluation process of the study.
All articles must be submitted using the article template. Otherwise, the articles will not be evaluated. You can access the article template here.
Articles with a similarity rate exceeding 25% are returned to the author.
The following guide has been prepared for manuscripts submitted to the journal. It is necessary to follow the journal format. A manuscript which does not fit to the journal’s format will be rejected.
It is mandatory to upload the 'Artificial Intelligence Statement of Commitment' to the system during article submission.
Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts submitted to the journal should be uploaded in "Microsoft Word" format.
• It should be written in Times New Roman font and in double-column format with a double line spacing and 2.5 cm margins from left, right, upper and lower. Paragraph indent should be 1 cm.
• The title of the manuscript should be written in bold with 14 point; subtitles should be written in bold with 12 point and a first letter capitalized only; the main text should be written with 12 point.
• Abstract, table and references should be written with 10 point and single line spacing.
• Title of table should be placed on top of the table, titles of graphs, figures and pictures should be placed at the bottom and the titles should be written with 10 point.
• Decimals should be separated by comma (,) in Turkish manuscripts and by period (.) in English manuscripts.
• Manuscripts should not exceed 5000 words, excluding tables, figures and graphs.
Title Page
Title Page includes paper title (in Turkish/English) authors’ full names and affiliations, corresponding author’s contact info (e-mail and correspondence adress).
Abstract
Abstract (in Turkish or English) should have 150-300 words. Abstract content should be as follows: Aim, Material and Method, Results, Conclusions, Keywords. Keywords between three and five should be seperated by comma (,). Turkish keywords should compatible with “Türkiye Bilim Terimleri” and can be taken from http://www.bilimterimleri.com. English keywords should compatible with “Index Medicus: Medical Subject Heading (MeSH)” standards.

Review Articles
These are the studies in which the authors describe their opinions for a subject in relation to current and emerging topics by using national and international literature.

Case Studies
These are rare articles that contain topics that differ in diagnosis, treatment, and care. It should be supported by a sufficient number of photos and diagrams.

APA 6.0 (https://www.academia.edu/32604983/APA_6th_Edition_Manual) spelling rules are applied in the use of sources.
• If a source with a single author is specified in the text: (e.g., Andsoy, 2004)
• If a source with two authors is specified in the text: (e.g., Gül and Andsoy, 2015).
• If a source with between three and six authors is specified in the text:
The first use of a source (e.g., Önalan, Andsoy, and Ersoy, 2018), and later the use of the source (e.g., Önalan et al., 2018).
• If a source with seven or more authors is specified in the text:
The first and later use of the source (e.g., Özyürek et al., 2015).
• If it is necessary to make a quotation in the text:

References
Journals' titles should be shortened according to MEDLINE style. (.nih.gov/nlmcatalog/dergi). Please make sure that all sources mentioned in the text are included in bibliography. Papers, master's and doctoral theses presented in symposiums, congresses and similar meetings cannot be used as sources.

UNIKA Journal of Health Sciences is a peer-reviewed scientific journal based on high ethical and editorial standards. The editorial evaluation is based on the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Cope's requests for ethical duties, responsibilities, and open access in this journal are considered. See Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
There is no charge for articles and other processes uploaded to the UNIKA Journal of Health Sciences; all accepted articles are published, read, and downloaded free of charge. For this reason, UNIKA Health Sciences Journal has adopted ICMJE (International Committee of Medical Journal Editors) and BOAI (Budapest Open Access Initiative) as its principles.
All UNIKA Journal of Health Sciences members and authors should be aware of the rules regarding the basic rules and recommendations set by COPE.
AUTHOR: All authors must make significant contributions to the research. Issues such as plagiarism, forgery, distortion, and unfair authorship are the authors' responsibility. If detected, the article will be rejected. An article in the process cannot be sent to or published in another journal. The author is responsible for uploading "documents and information requested for studies requiring ethics committee permission" to the system. Our journal requires authors to identify the ethics committee that approved the study. It also expects authors to comply with the standards recognized below.

REVIEWER: Articles submitted for publication are evaluated by at least two blind referees. The peer review process involves seeking advice on individual manuscripts from reviewers' experts in the field. Referees have no conflict of interest, and the articles are kept confidential. The editor reviews the referee evaluation results, and the author is notified of the decision regarding the article. The names of the referees who evaluate the articles are not reported to the authors. Referees also cannot see the terms of the authors. The general principle is that manuscripts deemed inadequate are developed in line with the referees' recommendations.
EDITOR: Journal Editors are committed to complying with all COPE Code of Conduct standards. Editors should not have conflicts of interest regarding the articles they accept or reject. Only articles that contribute to the field should be taken.
Manuscripts that do not reach the intended level and studies that are not considered scientifically sufficient are rejected by the editor without explaining the reason.
JOURNAL MANAGEMENT: Journal management and editors will take the necessary steps to prevent the publication of articles that are deemed to constitute misconduct in the abovementioned matters for the authors. In no case should the journal or its editors encourage or allow such abuse to occur. If the journal's publisher or editor is notified of any allegation of research misconduct, the publisher or editor will address the allegations appropriately.
The journal will allow articles to be retracted or corrected when necessary. The journal will publish corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies when necessary.
